Peter Horobin Saddlery Achievements

Manufacture of Racing saddles for Melbourne Cup winner “Lets Elope” (Steven King)

Invitation to conduct lectures on saddle fitting at the Institute of Sport in Canberra for the elite squad of riders prior to the Atlanta Olympics.
Asked to lecture on saddle fitting and teach basic knowledge of making saddlery in Jakata, Indonesia.
Invited lecturer at Equitana Asia in Melbourne and Brisbane.

Denmark – Auckland,
New Zealand – Kuala Lumper, Malaysia.

In 1997 Peter became the first Victorian Saddler to be awarded accreditation as a Saddlery trainee Assessor.

In 1999 Peter was awarded the manufacture and supply of all saddles and accessories for the International competitors of the Modern Day Pentathlon for the Year 2000 Olympics in Sydney. 36 competitors, both men and women, used Peter Horobin saddles. We are proud to say that this order was achieved because of the importance and knowledge of quality fitting and craftsmanship.

In 1998 Peter was contracted to make a custom saddle for Anne Greta Thornblad of Denmark, rider of “Marzog”, recently rated and awarded International Horse of the Century, 1999 over “Rembrandt”, ridden by Nicole Uphoff.

 

 

 

Regular export orders to Denmark, Germany and Switzerland for Grand Prix riders and riders representing their countries throughout Europe.

Finalist in the inaugural Frankston and Mornington Peninsula Awards 1999, promoting “Excellence in Enterprise and Innovation in Manufacturing”.
